Publishing house "Nieko rimto" was founded in 2001 and now we are proud to call it the country's leader in publishing children's literature. We are issuing books for childrens and young readers and mostly picture books by Lithuanian and foreign authors. Regardless of the short experience books with our symbol are very favourite and well known among children and adults in Lithuania.

We have high standarts for quality of translations and illustrations of our books.

Since the first book in 2002, we have published 37 books for children and young adults, 16 of them by Lithuanian authors, others translated from German, Russian, Norvegian, Finnish, Swedish. Last year we have published 17 books, 7 of them by Lithuanian authors.

First book published by „Nieko rimto“ is called „Ambrose the Dog, Purkius the Cat and the Trip of the Angel Home“ and was made by Lithuanian artist Sigute Ach (re-published in 2007). It has been awarded by IBBY‘s Lithuanian section as a most beautiful book of the year 2002. The newest book by the artist – „Ambrozijus starts first“ (2006) – was listed among most beautiful books of the year 2006 in competition organized by Ministry of Culture of Lithuania.

Sigute Ach illustrated 7 more books for „Nieko rimto“, 3 of them by Vytautas V. Landsbergis, who is very popular in Lithuania. One of these stories, „Dominykas the Horse in Love“, is translated into Swedish.

We have published number of books by Lithuanian illustrator Kestutis Kasparavičius, well known also abroad. His books „Silly stories“ (2005) and „Short stories“ (2006) (earlier published in Taiwan) and illustrations for H. Ch. Andersen's „Thumbelina“ have been also awarded by IBBY Lithuanian section.

Publishing house „Nieko rimto“ works with Lithuanian artists Marius Jonutis, Lina Dūdaite, Rasa Jonikaite and is also issuing famous foreign authors and illustrators (e.g. Ulf Stark, Tormod Haugen, H. Ch. Andersen; illustr. Gennadij Spirin, Markus Majaluoma, Wolf Erlbruch).
